The Refugee Program

Become Involved in the Refugee Program

You can advocate for refugees simply by taking action on any of the cases profiled on the Refugees actions page.

If you live in a city where RefNet groups exist (Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, and Vancouver) you may wish to join the Refugee Network. This is a unique network requiring specialized knowledge. As such, people who work on refugee cases are required to provide references, complete a training course and make a minimum six month commitment.

The RefNet relies on electronic communication as the fastest, most efficient and cost-effective way to relay information about cases and find relevant Amnesty documents, thus it is necessary that RefNet members have access to e-mail and the internet.

If you are interested in joining RefNet, contact the Refugee Coordinator at refugees@amnesty.ca for more information. For more general information about Amnesty's work on Refugee Rights, call 1-800-AMNESTY.
