Displays

This Displays

Create attractive displays from Amnesty posters, flyers, appeal postcards, banners and bookmarks.

  • Organize your display around a few strong visual images.
  • Focus attention on a simple, clear message using a few words.
  • Use a limited selection of attractive colours.
  • Tell a human story by using "Amnesty Works!" or other posters, or create your own visual images and stories based on Amnesty information.
  • Include Amnesty International's widely-recognized name and our candle in barbed wire symbol.
  • Include our website (www.amnesty.ca) or our 1-800-AMNESTY number - and make these easy to see.

Set-up locations

Effective displays have a clear, focused message like this one on China.

Libraries. Classrooms and school hallways. Bookstore. Markets, parks and civic plazas. Places of worship. Office lunchrooms. Display boards in schools and campuses. Restaurants. Community health clinics and family resource centres. Community centres. Concerts and street festivals. Storefronts. Conferences. Theatres.

Many people in your community or school will welcome requests to set up an Amnesty International display. Have samples of your materials in hand and ask for permission first. Agree on a time frame. Keep an eye on your display while it is up - make sure it looks fresh and in good order.
