Radio Amnesty

Amnesty International Canada produces an ongoing series of 20-30 minute radio programs on topics such as the human rights of women, children and refugees. Check out a sample of the most recent Radio Amnesty program on refugees
>> Searching for Safety.
Each Radio Amnesty program includes 30-second public service announcements (PSAs) on Amnesty's work, plus advice on how to get the programs on-air and handle radio interviews.
The programs are designed for campus and community radio, but they can also be used on local commercial stations as well as in classrooms and discussion groups. The PSAs can be played on any station or during school announcements.
Do you know of a station that might be interested in broadcasting Radio Amnesty material? Do you have your own radio program? Do you think your favorite station would air Amnesty's PSAs - several commercial rock stations have picked up the most recent "Searching for Safety" PSAs.
Are you a teacher, or a member of a discussion group, who could use the Radio Amnesty materials?
Check the Tool Shop for available Radio Amnesty programs. And contact us at 1-800-AMNESTY and we'll help you get involved in the Radio Amnesty project.
