Banners
If you are a webmaster, or have your own personal website, you can show your support by placing an automatically updating Amnesty campaign banner on your website.
There are no graphics to download, just a bit of HTML code for you to insert in your homepage where you want the banner to show up. That's all there is to it -- the banners are housed on Amnesty International Canada's server, so it doesn't add any extra load to your website.
Every couple of months or so we will change the banner -- you don't have to do anything -- so your webpage will always display up-to-date campaign messages.
Here is our current standard sized campaign banner:(468 x 65 pixels)
Click the banner to view where it will lead.
Here's the HTML code to place this banner on your homepage:
(just copy and paste this code into your homepage wherever you would like an Amnesty campaign banner to appear)
If you are unfamiliar with editing HTML code directly, or you want to use a visual web editor such as Microsoft Front Page, or Adobe GoLive, you can use the following steps to set up the banner:
- Insert a new image in your webpage. Instead of selecting a file from your drive, copy and paste the following text in the image source field:
http://www.amnesty.ca/images/banners/campaign01.gif
The image will appear to be broken -- that's okay, it will work correctly when it is uploaded to your server.
- Add a hyperlink for this image that points to the following URL:
http://www.amnesty.org/redir01.php
- Save your file and upload it. When you view it online with a web browser, the banner image should work fine.
