Amnesty International helps refugees in Canada after they have had a negative decision from the Immigration and Refugee Board. The goal of our help is to be sure that no one is removed from Canada to a country where they will face grave human rights violations.
Grave human rights violations can include a serious chance that a person will be tortured, killed, or unlawfully put in jail.
It is best for a person to come to us before they make an application for a Pre Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA). We may also assist with supporting information for Humanitarian and Compassionate applications.
In order to know what type of help we can provide, we need to review all of the documents relating to the refugee claim. This includes the Personal Information Form and the negative decision from the hearing at the Immigration and Refugee Board.
