If you take your women seriously and give them their basic human rights, God might bless your country and you will prosper. Women are smarter and stronger than you think. Just remember, the oppressed will not stay oppressed forever.

As a Canadian woman, I value my right to freedom of expression. Discrimination against women is illegal in Canada although it continues in some informal ways. I urge you to act in the Jelveh Javaheri case.

Of course I do not know Jelveh Javaheri personally but I believe we should admire her courage as she tries to do what she believes is right in order to benefit her country, Iran, and the citizens who live there.

Women are people too. They should be allowed the basics of equality and since they do not enjoy that, they should have every right to defend themselves against this abusive discrimination. Please review this issue it is very unfortunate that Jelveh is not being applauded for peaceful efforts towards human dignity. Instead she is being unjustly mistreated and charged. I hope that you listed to the thousands of concerned voices that support this woman and her efforts. We will not forget, nor will we give up.

When will Iran stop harassing people and jailing them for trumped up charges? We all know that the people in Evin Prison are political prisoners, who's only crime is that they are not supporting the present cruel government. It is time to stop this unhumane practice!

Excellency, we recognize that the duties and responsibilities inherent in your position is very, very demanding. A free, honest and a separate judiciary from any government pressures is essential to that responsibility. Having started to read the Quoran, it is apparent that its principals follow many of the same as in the Christian Bible. So we can both share in those fundamental responsibilities to all citizens -- and in your case, to all adherents of Islam. We are each not that different. It is, then, your great responsibility to ensure that your citizens know they can trust and believe in the judiciary of Iran to put honesty, fairness, justice in all the meaning of those words into practice for all those come before your whole legal system. If one of the great Islam Republics of this world cannot support such a judiciary, how can the government of Iran expect and promote such fairness, openness and the rights of defendants and have it accepted throughout the world. We in Canada, as you may well know, go a long way to ensure that pricniple is followed. We expect no less from all aspects of Iranian justice. Demonstrate that fact by releasing Jelveh Javaheri from all charges, and others in the same position, both in prison and out awaiting trials. We Canadians not not want to see Islam suffer in our country because of individual actions that do not represent the Islamic citizens. Our legal system demonstrates how far our judiciary goes to ensure all Appeals, defending the defendants with full legal representation and providing bail not jail. We must expect the same sense of duty and fairness from your judiciary. Sincerely Ronald H. Shuker, Canadian.
