We are two million concerned people around the world – more than 50,000 across Canada – who are standing up for human rights. We protect people at risk of torture and other extreme abuses. We speak out whenever equality, justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied.

We independently investigate and expose human rights abuses, we mobilize people around the world to demand these abuses stop, and we press governments to set laws that protect human rights.

We believe that every person - regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity – must enjoy all of the human rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. Human rights are for all people, everywhere, all the time – no exceptions!
