New recordings of John Lennon’s songs

More than 50 top musicians – Green Day, Avril Lavigne, U2, R.E.M. and many others – have made original recordings of John Lennon’s songs. A portion of revenue from INSTANT KARMA music downloads and CD sales will directly support Amnesty International’s human rights work. Thanks to Yoko Ono, who generously granted rights to Lennon’s entire solo songbook to Amnesty International.

Why Dafur?

Because it is the centre of one of the most horrifying and unnecessary conflicts our time – made far worse because most of the victims are civilians.

  • 300,000 people have died.
  • 2.5 million have been forced from their homes.
  • More than 4.5 million people are at risk of attacks, starvation and disease.

Imagine this happen in Canada. Ever person in B.C. and Alberta – or every person in Greater Toronto and nearby cities – all dead, or forced to flee for their lives, or at daily risk of starvation and military violence.

The Darfur conflict will only end if United Nations members intervene with sufficient force – and this can only happen if enough of us, millions of us, demand action.

Vocal public pressure has stopped human rights catastrophes before – East Timor is one example. Now’s the time to speak out for the people of Darfur

Thanks to Yoko Ono, who generously granted rights to Lennon’s entire solo songbook to Amnesty International.
