VOLUNTEERING

Conflict Resolution Policy Coordinator

Are you interested in volunteering more deeply with Amnesty? Have you been an Amnesty Canada member for at least 2 years? Do you have a background in conflict resolution and strong communication and organizational skills? Amnesty International is seeking applications for a volunteer Conflict Resolution Policy Coordinator.

The Conflict Resolution Policy Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the new Branch Conflict Resolution Policy is implemented and that resources and training are developed and available for Amnesty members and staff to access when they need advice and support moving through a conflict. If this is an area of work in which you are skilled and interested, we welcome your application.

Volunteering at Amnesty International Canada is very rewarding and does not require a huge time commitment. Hours are flexible and the staff and volunteers are dedicated to human rights activism globally, and in the community. Volunteering with Amnesty is a great way to meet others who want to make a difference.

Persons wishing to volunteer outside of office hours are encouraged to become members of the organization.

Volunteering at the National Office in Ottawa

The national office of Amnesty Canada provides a limited number of volunteer opportunities to those who wish to volunteer during office hours. Most of these opportunities are administrative in nature. All potential volunteers must go through an interview process and provide references. Interested persons may contact the Volunteer Coordinator by e-mail: volunteers@amnesty.ca

Opportunities at the National Office

Casual Help for Mailings and Special Projects:

On call to help with on-going projects and mail-outs for Amnesty campaigns.

Flexible schedule required. Approx. 4 to 6 hours per month.

Volunteering at the Toronto Office

At the present time, our Toronto office does not have the physical space to offer unpaid internships for those seeking them in our program areas.  

Volunteering at the Pacific Regional Office

Our Pacific Regional Office is able to offer a limited number of unpaid internships, apply now for fall/winter 2010 placements. If you interested in exploring this possibility please contact Don Wright at dwright@amnesty.ca
