National Print Award: Stephanie Nolen for “The Next Rwanda? Sudan’s Neglected Nightmare” printed in The Globe and Mail on 5 June, 2004. This was the second consecutive award for Stephanie Nolen who won in 2003 for an article about Uganda.

Video/Audio Award: Christopher Grosskurth and producer Liz Noh for the audio documentary “North Korea: The Hidden Gulag” broadcast on CBC Radio “The World At Six”, 29 December, 2003.
