Amnesty International is a world-wide membership-based human rights organization. It takes no funding from governments or corporations. Grassroots support is crucial to Amnesty’s ability to research and publish evidence of human rights violations, and to mobilize public support to end them. There are approximately 100 local and regional Amnesty Groups and Action Circles in Canada, working on campaigns, writing appeal letters, participating in special projects. Their work is what makes Amnesty an effective grassroots organization and ensures that Canada has a strong international voice in the advancement of universal human rights. Donate your energy and talents
Volunteers make a wide range of important contributions in all areas of human rights work - administration, research, activism, fundraising, and community development and support - at the national office in Ottawa, and the regional offices in Toronto and Vancouver. Taste for Justice - Host a dinner party!
A great way to welcome the summer with your friends and community
In June 2005 Amnesty International Canada launched its first ever national dinner party … with over 230 events across to raise awareness about human rights issues and money for human right work. Write for Rights

On December 10th, International Human Rights Day, thousands of Canadians commit time and energy to ‘write for rights’ in schools, homes, church, workplaces and communities across Canada.
