Amnesty.ca is a rich source of information on AI Canada’s work and priorities. It offers up-to-date news and reports about human rights concerns and advocacy around the world. The Resource Centre provides access to Amnesty’s library of reports, books, videos, campaign materials and merchandise. If you have a question about Amnesty International, the organization, its human rights work, or human rights in general, you can contact information services by clicking on “Ask a Librarian".

A comprehensive and detailed account of each country's challenges and achievements

The 2005 Amnesty International Annual Report covers the human rights records of 149 countries, highlighting the failure of national governments and international organizations to deal with abuses and violations. The report is available online or it can be ordered from the online shop.

Become part of a world-wide movement to promote universal human rights

Amnesty International is a world-wide membership-based human rights organization. It takes no funding from governments or corporations. Grassroots support is crucial to Amnesty’s ability to research and publish evidence of human rights violations, and to mobilize public support to end them. Look for the Amnesty table at your next community gathering

Check out the Amnesty Events Calendar...it showcases concerts, seminars, fundraisers, demonstrations and many more opportunities to get together with like-minded people to learn more about human rights, take action and have fun. Taste for Justice and Write for Rights are major events produced annually by Amnesty International Canada to raise awareness, take action against human rights abuses, and raise funds for human rights work.

First hand accounts of suffering and successes

Cry for Justice is a 30 minute broadcast shown on many television stations across Canada depicting the compelling stories of those who suffer agregious human rights abuses and those who try to prevent them.
