I would sincerely like to know the specific reasons why the Government have not ratified the Optional Protocal to the UN Convention Against Torture etc. Please provide an explanation for this. The legal maxim "Qui tacet consentire videtur." (He who is silent appears to consent.) I do not consent to the application of torture, and I ask that you as my representative make this known to the world through the ratification of the UN convention.
