Canadian musicians help celebrate the 60th Anniversary on tour with Small Places

Alanis Morissette joins the Small Places Tour!
Ten years ago, Alanis Morissette participated in Amnesty International's concert to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration. We're thrilled to have Alanis join in 2008.
The Small Places film crew hit the Vans Warp Tour, folk festivals and the Virgin Festival this summer to record messages of support from bands including Wintersleep (pictured left), Broken Social Scene, the Weakerthans, Katy Perry and Stars.

Canadian artists fill Small Places with large canvasses

Toronto artists cover the city with 30 murals illustrating each Article in the Universal Declaration.

In BC, an Amnesty film festival, as well as UDHR @ 60, a human rights painting project, are being organized. In the east, John Murphy is exhibiting paintings about Indigenous leader, Kimy Pernia, who ‘disappeared’ from Colombia. View events.
Small Places Worldwide
Musicians are being asked by long-time Amnesty supporters, including Peter Gabriel and U2's The Edge, and REM's Michael Stipe to raise their voices in song and action in hundreds of concerts held around the world in the coming months.

How YOU can get involved in Small Places
  
1. Plan an artistic event or music gig in your school, livingroom, backyard, community centre or nearby restaurant. Tell us about your Small Places event.
2. Sign up - we'll keep you informed of events, volunteer opportunies, ideas for celebrating the 60th.
3. Invite your artist and musician friends to organize an event. Make use of the talent in your school.
4. Spread the word online:
