“The power of love can conquer the love of power”

Members of the social justice movement Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) are frequently detained for protesting peacefully. Most recently on January 25th, 2010, eleven WOZA members were beaten and detained by police for attending a peaceful protest which publicized the rights to education in Zimbabwe.

Although the formation of the unity government has signaled the first steps toward good governance in Zimbabwe, the story of WOZA proves that there are still ongoing concerns.
