Doing nothing is tantamount to condoning murder, rape and genocide. By de-responsibilizing ourselves, by standing idle and watching we are perpetrating a crime of indifference, which is no better than any war crime. If countries like Canada don't act, who will?

Its amazing to me how so many people are blind to whats going on in the Congo. I blame this on the media coverage or nil coverage on this crucial matter. There was a survey asking people if they were aware of whats going on in the Congo. The majority of people stated that it wasn't in the headlines so they didn't know about it!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Harper,
Please use your power for good. I too am a U of C graduate and as fellow alumni, I implore you to think of your children and their futures. Immunity to theses types of human rights crimes may be the sentiment of many Canadians, but you and I both know Canada is not immune. Support the aid workers and their efforts to stop the murder, rape and abduction of children. The Queen herself is directly responsible for the colonization of Africa and the subsequent tyranny that is taking place right now. As you awake in your warm home and go to your safe office, think for a moment: what if your wife, your children were raped and abducted in your absence. This is a daily occurrence for the innocent civilians of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Dollar signs have never replaced the genuine sentiments on a grave stone, what will yours say?
