"Allowing women to reach their full potential is the biggest step to help stop world poverty and fight against ignorance."

"No one deserves abuse, regardless of sex, ethnicity, or any other personal attribute."
Smiljka Tasic , Toronto

"first and foremost I am a woman! One who believes I am NOT a second class citizen in this world. The violence that continues against women across this world sickens me. Every person on this planet has a woman to thank for their very life, yet society continues to demean, oppress, silence, rape and slaughter women daily all over the world. Women are the most persecuted group in history and our oppression continues today, yet for some reason it is almost taboo to talk about. I am sick of being silent, I am sick of this world telling me I'm not good enough, and I am sick of waiting for change. Nobody defines us but ourselves and no human on earth deserves what women are continuously subjected to! We can stop these atrocities, but first we need to love ourselves enough to know that each and every one of us in this world deserves change! I am sick of being sick of things so watch out world, cus here comes my generation. "
Michelle , Saskatoon

"violence against women is exterminating nature and life"
Fehmida khan , montreal, quebec
December 21, 2007

Speak out

10,000 Voices is about making our voices heard - thousands of voices, ten thousand voices and more..

In the struggle to promote the human rights of women, there are too many voices not yet being listened to. We want to change that.

This web site is a forum where concerned individuals can speak out -- loudly, clearly and persistently --and demand a world free from violence against women.

Use this page to Speak out by adding your voice to the growing list of statements, dreams, wishes and declarations on the Your Voices listing.

I want to speak out to stop violence against women because:
