My name is Irene Fernandez and I live in Malaysia. I started “Tenaganita,” an organization that promotes the rights of migrant workers in Malaysia.

When we exposed human rights abuses against migrant workers – including the sexual exploitation of women – I was accused of being a criminal and sentenced to prison.

In our situation, the support of people around the world – your support – is so important.

The efforts of Amnesty International members have especially given me strength. You also give strength to the migrant workers and victims of abuse.
