Amnesty International Book Club Coordinator (Calgary, AB)
Purpose: Assist with the local promotion of the Amnesty International Canada Book Club. This may be done through networking, seeking locations for promotion, delivery of collateral pieces and at times hosting a booth or display. At times the position may expand beyond the Book Club scope to accommodate timely opportunities.
Accountability: Report to and support provided by Regional Fundraising Officer for Alberta
Location: Calgary and Area
Calgary office: #307, 223 – 12 Ave SW, Calgary, AB
Area is secondary and would include Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, High River, Turner Valley, Strathmore and Chestermere
Key Responsibilities: Organizing, Networking, Calling, Delivering/Mailing Collateral, Promotion, Engaging the Public
Length of Appointment: Minimum 9 months
Time Commitment: At least one day per week (Monday to Friday) for a minimum of 3 hours per volunteer shift (9:30am-4:00pm)
Qualifications:
Strong verbal communication skills
Dependable, Pleasant Manner, Personable, Take Initiative and Creative
Ability to work alone or with others
Ability to set up a system to track progress
Passion for reading is an asset
Access to transportation is an asset but not necessary
