Respect for Indigenous Rights Means #NoSiteC

Within weeks, the new provincial government in British Columbia will make a decision about whether or not the Peace River Valley will be protected from destruction by the Site C dam.

An independent review ordered by the government is currently re-examining the economic rationale for the $9 billion+ mega-project. But the provincial government has promised that its final decision will also consider the many harmful impacts on the environment and Treaty rights. Meanwhile, despite its own promises to uphold Indigenous rights, the federal government remains silent about its responsibilities to protect human rights in the Peace Valley.
